The Secret to Nailing Those Tricky Movements

Today we’re going to share a bit of insight that will help you not only in your training, but also in life in general. (Yeah, it’s deep).

What’s the secret?

Okay, okay…it’s no secret. The truth of the matter is that the best way to guarantee your success with some of the trickier movements is to focus on the basics.

Lots of people want to skip ahead without building the foundation for their skills. This can lead to lots of mistakes, lackluster attempts, and in some cases, can even send you backwards in your progress.

Put in the practice and focus on perfecting your form, and little by little you’ll notice your skills increasing. After you put in the time and build a strong base, then you can try to do the advanced moves – you may surprise yourself with how easy it now is!

And yes, you can apply this to anything – not just training. Master the basics, and the advanced skills will follow.

At what about nailing the foundation?

I started F1 yestereday with recommended minimum reps and sets on day 1. After tripod extensions with one leg a a time and 6 sets of 10s wall hanstands facing in , my whole abs are really sore today. I’m not so dumb anymore to train in such state.

Shrimp squats beginner are too demanding – no way I’ll make 7 – only 3-4 are managable. I know inverted press will kill my shoulder musces, but I know easier versions to gain more stenght there.

Anyway, I will give F1 anohter try when I get stronger.

    • @Strus Do what you can and build up. Did you read the manual? It explains everything.

Shrimp squats, as directed, indicate only going as deep as you personally can without breaking form. If you can only do three or four, that’s still going to get you stronger.

I got very happy after I’ve acquired keeping headstand after tripod extensions. I made nice progressions, but I still have some questions, will send an email soon
