Deconstructing Floor Two: Your Questions Answered

Ryan Backflip

Ryan had way too much fun making this program.

So you want to learn how to finally master your body’s movement abilities?

Well, you’re in luck!

In case you haven’t heard (where have you been?) we just released our brand-spanking-new program, Floor Two. This program offers pretty much everything you could want in an exercise program. Not only will you learn some ridiculously cool tricks by the end of it, you’ll also come away with a clearer understanding of your body’s endless capabilities, which will help you get wherever you want to go next.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been talking about Floor Two quite a bit, and questions have been pouring in from people who are really excited about this program.

So, whether you’re on the fence about F2, or you’re just not sure what to expect, this video should help. Ryan goes through the most commonly asked questions about F2, and answers each of them in detail. (Scroll down for a written explanation of each of these questions).

Most Popular Questions

What Can I Expect From F2?

Like all GMB programs, Floor Two is a comprehensive, skill-building program, that will take you step-by-step through incremental progressions. The skills you’ll learn in this program, like the backflip, macaco, and aerial, can seem a bit scary at first, but working toward them with small, manageable steps makes them all very accessible.

We include many hours of specific instructional videos and pages of detailed manuals (see a breakdown below).

Can I Actually Do This?

Short answer? You betcha!

We understand that these movements can be a bit intimidating, so no matter what level you’re starting from, we break down each progression so that you fully understand what you should be doing and feeling each step of the way.

The main thing you’ll get out of this program, besides for some awesome tricks to show off to your buddies, is a better understanding of how your body feels when you start to use it the way it was designed to be used. Keep that goal in mind, and you’ll be definitely be able to do everything we teach in F2.

How Long Will It Take Me To Get A Backflip?

Contrary to popular belief, the backflip is actually not a very difficult move to learn. But, learning an individual move like the backflip, or any other move for that matter, is very different from learning a new approach to movement in general.

Floor Two isn’t about learning how to do a backflip in the fastest way possible – it’s about teaching you how to completely master your body. The backflip is a result of that body mastery.

But, to answer your question of how long it will take with F2, here’s a breakdown of the phases of the program:

  • The Preparatory Phase is 1 month long and will prepare you for the actual program
  • The First Phase of the program is 5 weeks long, and will focus on strength building
  • Phase Two is also 5 weeks, and will focus on skill development
  • Phase Three is 4 weeks, and will begin combining these skills into mini flows
  • Finally, Phase Four is the flow routine, and lasts 3 weeks

What If I Can’t Get The More Advanced Skills?

Again, you’re in luck. We specifically designed F2 to include two flow variations – an advanced, aerial flow, and a modified flow that does not include any air-bound movements.

So, even if you feel you won’t be able to get that backflip or aerial, you’ll still be able to work through the entire program, all the way through Phase 4, the flow routine. The movements are divided into blocks so you can substitute movements as needed.

Can I Jump In And Start With F2?

We do recommend starting with Floor One, and depending on your starting point, you may find it necessary to do so in order to build a strong foundation of movement. However, if you really just want to learn the skills we teach in Floor Two, you can “jump” right in (excuse the bad pun), as long as you have some experience with bodyweight movements.

We include a clear preparatory program that will give you a better understanding of your body’s movement capabilities. You may need to spend more total time on Floor Two if you have not first gone through Floor One, but that’s fine.

What’s Included?

  • Training Manual – 52 pages of information, notes, and instructions
  • Instructional Videos – each movement is broken down
  • Warm Up and Cool Down Videos
  • Workout Guide for each day of each phase
  • 48 pages of Workout Charts
